What works today

Works with a Yaybird API key.

n8n connects through its MCP Client Tool, on n8n Cloud and self-hosted alike. It uses a Yaybird API key: each n8n server has its own address, so a sign-in cannot work for every one.

Setup

Connect n8n to Yaybird.

  1. In Yaybird, open Agents and create an API key. Copy it.
  2. In your n8n workflow, add an AI Agent node, and under Tool add MCP Client Tool.
  3. Endpoint: https://yaybird.com/mcp. Transport: HTTP Streamable. Authentication: Bearer Auth, with your Yaybird key.
  4. Choose which Yaybird tools the agent may use, then run the workflow or chat with the agent.

The MCP Client Tool is part of n8n on every plan, cloud or self-hosted. Source
API key
Make one in Yaybird under Agents, then API keys. It starts with sk_yb_ and reaches only that workspace, with the same approval rules.

Can an n8n agent post without me?

No. The agent can only create drafts and ask for approval. A post goes live after a person approves it in Yaybird, on their phone or computer, unless you turn on auto-approve for a brand yourself.

What if it writes something off-brand?

Your brand rules check every draft. A draft that breaks one is stopped, and The agent gets the phrase and the reason so it can fix it and try again.

Where do I get an API key?

In Yaybird, open Agents and choose Create key under API keys. The key starts with sk_yb_ and is shown once, so paste it straight into the tool. Delete it on the same page to cut off access at once.
